FAQ
Please don't hesitate to call
(303) 733-2982 with questions.
Q: I'm in a hurry. How soon can you do the installation?
A: Systems can usually be scheduled 1-2 weeks after contacting Denver Area Radon. Occasionally shorter notice installations are possible.
Q: How long does it take?
A: Most installations are a one man, one day job. Expect anywhere from 5-10 hr. of work at the house.
Q: When will I get my post mitigation test results?
A: Typically about one week after the date of system installation.
Q: Do I need to do anything to prepare?
A: If the home is vacant and clear of personal belongings, no. It is helpful if unfinished areas in the basement are empty or near empty to provide access to joints, cracks, plumbing penetrations, sump pits, etc. Crawl spaces should also be reasonably free of personal affects and debris.
Q: What if my follow-up test comes back high?
A: DON'T PANIC! There are many ways to tweak or modify a system to enhance performance, from multiple points of suction to fan upgrades. All Denver Area Radon systems are guaranteed to reduce radon concentrations to or below 3.9 pCi/L. If a post mitigation test is high, D.A.R. will implement any necessary changes at no additional charge.
Q: All of this needs to be done before I close and there doesn't seem to be time. What can be done?
A: Denver Area Radon can provide a letter for you to take to closing, outlining the scope of work, guaranteed test results, and the transferable warranty. Often this letter will satisfy all parties and there is no need to postpone closing.
