Follow-up Testing
Here is an overview of test scores associated with 200 consecutive system installations.
The AVERAGE score before installation was 10.7 pCi/L, with test scores ranging from 4.0 pCi/L to 55 pCi/l.
The AVERAGE followup score after a full system installation was 2.5 pCi/L.
90% of full system installations passed after the initial installation (no return trips to the house), with an AVERAGE followup score of 1.2 pCi/L. Followup scores in this 90% ranged from 0.05 pCi/L to 3.8 pCi/L.
Denver Area Radon provides full service, third party follow up testing.
Many homeowners and agents are not comfortable or are simply not available to be expected to deploy a test canister and conduct their own follow-up test. Additionally, contracting out the entire follow-up testing process eliminates the potential of conflict of interest.
D.A.R. is quite pleased to be completely removed from follow-up testing. Every step, from the deployment of the testing device, to the delivery of the results is handled by an independent contractor.
The cost of full service follow-up testing is included in every quote.
The full service follow-up testing works like this:
- Denver Area Radon will provide the agent or homeowner with contact information to schedule the test. The test can be scheduled at the convenience of the homeowner or passed along to a buyer to be dealt with at a later time.
- The third party tester will place the device.
- After a minimum of forty eight hours of exposure the third party tester will return to retrieve the device.
- The third party tester will contact the agent or homeowner directly with the test results.
- The third party tester then forwards the test results to D.A.R. along with an invoice. (The third party tester bills Denver Area Radon, not the homeowner.)
